Socioeconomic Stratification of Puppils at Two Grade of Primary Schools
ONDRÁŠEK, Stanislav
The present bachelor thesis entitled "Socioeconomic stratification of pupils at the upper primary school" is concerned with the issues of social stratification, or, as the case may be, socioeconomic stratification and related impacts on victims. In general, teaching staff will focus on physical bullying; however, physical bullying, which is linked to socioeconomic stratification, is not brought to attention to an adequate extent. The theoretical part describes in succession basic terms regarding the bachelor thesis, such as a small social group, group conflicts, power and its use in the society or social security. The objective of the thesis is to determine if pupils at the upper primary school are stigmatized for reasons of socioeconomic stratification, and based on this objective, the following hypothesis was set forth: "Pupils at the upper primary school are stigmatized for reasons of socioeconomic stratification." The research part of the present thesis characterizes a research sample consisting of pupils of primary schools [ZŠ] Volary and Bezdrevská in České Budějovice. The research examined the total of 216 respondents, with 122 girls and 94 boys. The respondents were addressed through educational advisors at schools and then given questionnaires with 13 questions. Questionnaires were assessed and the data gained were subsequently processed in graphs: a chi-quadrat test was used to verify the hypothesis. Importantly, our calculations did not confirm the constructed hypothesis. The following discussion compares the research findings with literature that engages in social stratification problems. Possible contributions of the thesis to the said problems, as well as a number of possible solutions, such as an introduction of school uniforms, are stated in the conclusion.

The practical part of the thesis contains a description and an analysis of questionnaires that were assigned to the first year classes of the four-year grammar schools in the early days of the school year 2011/2012 and in the beginning of November the same year. Based on the analysis of questionnaires, this part also deals with identifying differences among these classes.
